Heavy on Fashion Reviews: Perlier Volcanic Thermal Scrub*

A photo posted by Malanb (@heavyonfashion) on

Hello all my fashion divas and gurus! Thanks to the beauty mavens over at iFabbo, I had a chance to review Perlier Volcanic Thermal Scrub. Scrubs are great for removing dead skin from your body. Dead skin makes your skin looks dull and lackluster. Doing a scrub at least once a week is great for your skin. One great scrub to use is Perlier Volcanic Thermal Scrub for my sensitive skin divas and gurus. Perlier is a known for their great beauty products so I had high expectations for this scrub.

When I first opened Perlier Volcanic Thermal Scrub, I love the smell. Absolutely delicious and light. The Perlier Volcanic Thermal Scrub comes in a great size jar (6.7 fl oz). The only complaint I have is that the scrub does not have as much texture as other scrubs, that was a bit of a downer. Due to the lack of texture, I feel that this scrub is a great addition to a beauty regiment for a diva or guru with sensitive skin.

I love the scrub is thick and the color. The color of Perlier Volcanic Thermal Scrub reminds me of the ocean in the Bahamas. If your looking for a smoother scrub than I would differently aim for Perlier Volcanic Thermal Scrub. I also like that you do not need a huge amount to have your own spa day. The Perlier Volcanic Thermal Scrub retails on HSN.com for $25.00! Thanks to iFABBO, you can now get $5.00′s off your Perlierpurchase on HSN.com with code iFabbo5

Heavy on fashion Reviews : Sage Lifestyle*

Hello, all my fashion divas and gurus! I am so happy to bring you another fantastic review, this time from Sage Lifestyle. Sage Lifestyle was started by Sage Machado, a  jeweler, clothing designer, perfumer, boutique owner, artist, and entrepreneur! Sage Machado is a woman of many talents and used her talents to create a fantastic product!  Here are my thoughts on some fabulous products from Sage!

8 oz Candle - Amber
First, I tried out the 8 oz candle in the Amber scent. I really loved the scent, very earthy and warm. Great for any season but I find it refreshing during the fall and winter seasons. Many candles that I encounter do not have such a memorable scent, well Sage Lifestyle candles are powerful and unforgettable. The 8oz Amber candle retails for $56.00.

3 oz Topaz Travel Candle
I love the Topaz travel candle. The scent is charming, light, and sweet thanks for the 5 variety of vanillas embedded in the scent signature. The 3 oz candle also comes with a lovely candle holder and a great for a gift, especially for the holiday. I really love that Sage Lifestyle candle has no Parabens, no Sulfates, no Synthetic dyes, no Triclosan,  no Phthalates, and no GMO. The 3 oz travel candle retails at $26.00.

Onyx Roll -On Oil
My favorite from the Sage Lifestyle collection is the Roll-On oils. I feel in love with Onyx. It is earthy, sexy, with a tropical island feel. Literally, when I put on onyx, I am ushered to a private beach in the Bahamas at night with a full moon and a great cocktail in my hand. I love the oil holder, very cute. The size of the Onyx Roll-On Oil is great to put in a clutch bag or even your back pocket. Onyx is one of the best oil scents I had in a very long time! The Onyx roll-on retails for $45.00

Heavy on Fashion talks to Nataly Aponte

Hello all my fashion diva and gurus! You love jewlery...I love jewlery. I am happy to bring to you a fantastic Brooklyn based jewelry designers and craftswomen, Nataly Aponte. Nataly is launching her next collection: The Matchstick Collection. The Matchstick Collection is her largest, and also most varied with uses of fine metals such as yellow gold, sterling silver, and citrine, as well as gems such as garnet, rubilitie, topaz, and more. Here is a look at Nataly's latest collection and How Ms. Aponte started as a jewelry designer

Here is Heavy on Fashion talks to Nataly Aponte!

Heavy on Fashion:  Where are you from?

Nataly Aponte: I'm from NY. Born in the Bronx and my family moved to Larchmont when I was 5 years old.

Heavy On Fashion: Describe the general process you go through to design and realize a piece of jewelry.

Nataly Aponte: I'm usually inspired by a gemstone, color, pattern, or material. Sometimes furniture or a well styled interior. Simple shapes and nature can get my wheels turning. I also have a passion for ribbon and knotting. Most of my larger pieces start there.

Heavy On Fashion: How would you define your city's jewelry?

Nataly Aponte: NY is edgy and modern. There is constant reinvention. Materials are always being pushed to the limit. Each designer can have their own take on materials. You can walk around all day and see variations of one common denominator. I love seeing an interesting piece of jewelry on someone and wonder, who made that?

Heavy On Fashion: When did you realize you wanted to become a jewelry designer?

Nataly Aponte: At a very young age. I began making those colored woven plastic string bracelets they teach you in camp and never stopped making and creating since then. My aunt gave me a box of leather swatches she had from a shoe designer she worked for. I loved the leather, texture, and colors so much I decided to make earrings out of them. I folded, cut, glued, and jeweled them up in my grandmothers house and gifted them for Christmas. This box traveled with me for years up until art school. It became my palette until all the scraps were gone. My aunt still has her earrings!

Heavy On Fashion: What are some of your proudest accomplishments as a designer?

Nataly Aponte: When I run into someone who's wearing one of my pieces and I cannot stop starring at how great it looks on them. Part of me adorns them. That's a huge feeling.

Heavy On Fashion: How would you define your personal style?

Nataly Aponte: Eccentric, eclectic, vintage meets modern. I'm pretty glamorous!

Heavy On Fashion: What's your favorite part about conceptualizing a design?

Nataly Aponte: When I have one idea for a piece and I can instantly see other variations unfold. Its all there, I just have to quickly get moving with a raging fire!

Heavy On Fashion: What do you hope to have achieved in the industry, 10 years from now?

Nataly Aponte: Nataly Aponte=matchsticks! The girl who creates fire and then some...

Heavy On Fashion: What does fashion mean to you?

Nataly Aponte: Your own style, periods that inspire you, colors and materials that resonate with you, things you feel good in. Not what's trending, that's kinda like following a seasonal look book. Unless you're into the trend but always try and put your own stamp on it. Mix it your way! In a city where black is a staple, you can be in head to toe black but its the accessories that truly define you.
