Heavy on Fashion talks to Trendenzas

Hello Cassandra, Thank you again for talking to Heavy on Fashion. Tell use about Trendenzas Inc and How did Trendenzas come to be?

C.C.: Trendenzas is an online deal of the day site that features all the hottest trends at over 50% off and at times up to 90%. Trendenzas came to be because I have always loved a good bargain, not to mention just about every trend that has gone in and out of fashion. My over flowing jewelry box and closet can attest to that.  This does not change the fact that I couldn't help but cringe when I see the prices. As fashion daily deal sites sprung up all over, I could only hope that my prayers had been answered. Discounts in the double digits?  Well, yes, that is if the $600 pair of sunglasses for $250 was a bargain. Or the designer watch for a mere $399 versus the $900 it would normally retail for, was what you call a deal.

I felt it was time that someone stepped up to the plate and put an end to all this non-sense.... hence Trendenzas.

I love the daily deals on Trendenzas.com especially the savings. Where can all my fashionistas and gurus sign up for Daily Deals?

C.C.:You can sign up right on the Trendenzas Home page. Leave us your name and email and we will send you the deal each morning.

What makes Trendenzas different from other accessories lines?

C.C.:We offer all the same hot trends, but at a fraction of the price. Where else can you get a pair of earrings at 90%. Trendenzas also feels strongly about giving back. We love the Glass Slipper Project (Glassslipperproject.org) and look to help them where ever possible. We encourage all of our shoppers to send us their old jewelry as they replace it will new trendy items to be donated to the Glass Slipper project.

I hear that Trendenzas is expanding!  Tell us about the Trendenzas' T-Party.

C.C.:T-Parties are a Trendenzas new home parties. They feature an exclusive collection that is not sold online. Whether it is a special  occasion, a jewelry exchange or just a gathering with wine and good conversation; look to Trendenzas to BRING the BLING!

Gather your girlfriends and let Trendenzas bring the party. It is the only way to get a look at the Spring/Summer Collection (not available on our site). Our Home Party Trends consist of the latest trends in jewelry and accessories with something for everyone.

Cassandra Caldwell, President of Trendenzas.com

How can T-Party's help future fashionistas looking to be independent business owners and entrepreneurs?

C.C.: T-parties offer an opportunity for fashionistas looking to be independent business owners to take part and own their own business. We give you all the tools you need to build a successful home-party business.
Join one of the hottest and fastest growing fashion companies, TRENDenzas Inc. Featured on over 30 blogs and publications including Teen Vogue and Life & Style. AND TO THINK WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED!

What type of impact are you hoping to make in the fashion industry? In the World?

C.C.: I hope to take the fashion industry by storm. I plan to change the perception that good quality and trendy accessories have to cost you a fortune. You can be fashionable for affordable prices.

Any upcoming events for Trendenzas?

C.C.: Trendenzas will soon be launching the Monthly Fashion Club (The MFC). A club for the fashionable and senseable. Get an exciting package in the mail each month with a new accessory. Clubs will range for $10 to $30 each month and all offer an annual saving of over 40% off.

Where can we all check out your merchandise in person?

C.C.: Trendenzas is only sold online. We are always willing to entertain boutiques that are looking to add our line, but have decide so far to stick with the Internet.  That being said we do from time to time host launch Parties or other events so keep your eyes peeled. We always post to Event Brite.

Heavy on Fashion talks to Pretty Pear Bride ...and Giveaway

How did Pretty Pear Bride magazine come to be? Where can we pick up Pretty Pear Magazine?
After countless attempts by my wedding friends, PPB magazine came to be because I saw a void and filled it.  I knew nothing about magazines, where to start or how to make one but I knew that there was a void and I was eager and hungry to fill it.  PPB Magazines are available through our website and in salons and boutiques across the country.  Visit or website for locations, that are being updated constantly.

I love Pretty Pear Bride blog. What made you venture into the blogosphere?
I started out in the cyber world of wedding industry blogging by creating Divas and Weddings, wedding inspiration for the wedding diva.  I loved being able to share with the world my creative visions and take on weddings.  I myself being a plus size bride noticed that there were no resources, like Style Me Pretty and other wedding blogs for plus size brides so my mission was clear: merge my love for blogging and wedding planning with creating a place for plus size brides to see themselves in wedding inspiration.

What is the most important thing you learned from being the Owner and Editor of Pretty Pear Bride?
Determination!! It is not easy hearing "No" and this venture has really taught me that you have to be determined to get what you want out of life.  But good things do come to those that wait!

What advice would you give someone looking to start their own business?
Stay true to you and your vision. It's so easy to get caught up in creating something and forget what you started out to do.  Know your vision and never lose sight of it.

I see that you are a Certified Wedding Planner and Plus Size Bridal Stylist. What is the best wedding advice you can give to all those Pretty Pear Brides?
Take one thing at a time.  Yes, planning a wedding can be stressful and hard but if you take one thing at a time, it makes it so much easier.  Trust me it will save your sanity as well as everyone else around you.

From a Biology Degree to a Certified Wedding planner and stylist, that is a interesting career change. How did that come to be?
Well, I was always the cool and social science person, as they called me in college.  Everyone was always like “you are a biology person but you’re so social and fun.  So I’ve always had that planning, social vibe to me.  While in college I was in charge of the whole social/events organization on my campus so I definitely got my fix of social and planning even when I had my science side.  And when I graduated, I did the science/medical thing to pay the bills because at the time being a planner and stylist wasn't as lucrative as it is now but I always had my hand in the event planning realm.  So eventually my husband told to go out and start my own company.  So here we are.

There are many people who would like be a certified Wedding planner.
What advice would you give to them?
Experience, Experience, Experience!  Being certified is great, it looks good and will give you that advantage over other planners who are not but don't think that just because you are certified that you will automatically get clients.  You need to get the experience to go with the certification.  Do internships, volunteer, shadow other planners, the more hands on experience the better.

When I was getting married, I found it pretty hard to find a great dress. What advice would you a bride to be who is looking for the perfect dress for her special day?
Any store/brand suggestions.

"Try it on"  So often people see things on a rack and just know that it won't look good on them but how do you know.  You don't know until you try it on.  You will be amazed at how different a dress looks on you as opposed to on the rack.  I am in love with Alfred Angelo right now. They really understand the plus size bride and are making more options that compliment our bodies.  Also don't be afraid to get a dress custom made, especially to match your size.  This is a great option for that bride that has a specific vision and can't find it anyway.

What is your favorite plus size bridal designer(s) right now?
I love Alfred Angelo, White by Vera Wang and Etsy for those custom made dresses.

What advice would you give a bride planning her special day?
It's your special day so make sure and enjoy it!

A Sneak Peek look at SK WiLBUR - Eye Candy!

SK WiLBUR’s main objective is to dress and empower the 67% of American women who are size 14 or higher.  “I love curvy women and I will profess my love until the day I die,” says Wilbur Pack Jr., the designer who comes from a family filled with beautiful, bodacious, and bountiful women.  Although Pack started out designing for “straight sizes” almost 14 years ago, it was his decision to finally jump into the deep end of the plus size pool that has given him the most fulfillment.  Since launching his plus size collection in 2010, Pack has been featured in online publications such as Plus Model Magazine and Belle Noir.  His collections have been favorably reviewed by Women’s Wear Daily and bluefly.com.  He has also been a featured designer in JET magazine and recently appeared on the reality TV series 24 Hour Catwalk hosted by Alexa Chung which aired on Lifetime.

When Pack unveils his latest effort, EYE CANDY, on June 15, 2012 during Full-Figured Fashion Week for the Independent Designers Showcase, it will feature head-to-toe looks that are luxurious, polished, and sophisticated.  Sleek pieces that pop with panache are rendered in mouth watering colors like licorice, grape, pumpkin pie, Twizzler®, lollipop, passion punch, and cherry bomb.  “For fall, I wanted to provide curvy women with everything from soup to nuts,” admits Pack.  To that end, when the company website, www.skwilbur.com,  debuts its new look this September, it will also offer haute hats by Otis Damo’n Millinery along with coats, dresses, tops, skirts, pants, belts, gloves, and handbags designed by SK WiLBUR.  “We’re building a lifestyle brand for the curvy woman,” says the designer.  Prices will range from $85.00 for a top to $700.00 for a custom dress.  “I like to refer to it as accessible luxury,” states Pack.

Lonette McKee, the veteran actress/entertainer, perhaps best known for her work in movies and television miniseries like Sparkle & The Women of Brewster Place, commissioned Pack to create a design for her return to the stage last April at the famed Algonquin Hotel.  He has dressed Patti LaBelle as well.

Full Figured Fashion Week, produced by DeVoe Signature Events, is now in its fourth year, and will take place in New York City from June 13, 2012 to June 16, 2012.  For tickets and press inquiries, please visit www.fffweek.com.
