Heavy on Fashion at Shecky's Girls Night Out

Hello all my Heavy on Fashion lovers. I got the chance to go to Shecky's Girls night out June 22nd. I had a wonderful time especially because I got the chance to go with fashion forward mom. It was great. Tons of accessories, great original fashions, independent and famous designers.

There was tons of  independent fashion designers and  many shoppers at Sheckys. This was a great place to pick up some serious trends for new and well known designers from all over.  You know I love private owned labels so if you are like me and want to support unique and new designers. You can find tons of them at Shecky's Girls Night Out!

The Music was great but the drinks were even better! You can never go wrong with a free cocktail!SHout out to Bud Light and Barcardi!

If you are not a fan of beer and cocktails, the wine selection at Sheckys was great too!

My First Love - Five Artists at work

Though I love fashion, My first love was and still is Art. When I was in high school I fell in love with CHarles White's work and I have been in love with it ever since. So here is a look at some of my favorite artists thanks to Youtube.

I love these video because it showcases some famous artist that many do not know about. I am also love the fashion in it since this video was made in the 70's. SO much Vintage good! Many fashion/accessory designers are inspired by fine art from the past.

Final Thoughts: Art; My first love... but not be my last!

Heavy on Fashion Fashion 101: Vintage Classic: The Delphos Dress

There are many dresses in the world that are wonderful to wear. The sheath is a classic. The sundress is a wonderful classic. The Maxi dress is a must have for this summer. Recently I have a great appreciation of the Delphos Dress. The fabulous ancient Greek inspired dress created in 1909 by Mariano Fortuny.

This dress is beyond fabulous. Look at Clarisse Coudert a.k.a Mrs. Condé Nast wearing this classic Delphos tea dress. Its a bit hard to find a orignal Fortuny Delphos Tea Dress and pricey too. The famous Christie's Auction House sold a rare Fortuny Dress for $8,752

Though the modern interpretation of Fortuny's delphos gown is great nothing beats a vintage Delphos Dress by Mariano Fortuny. You can never go wrong with a classic!  So here is a huge thank you to Mariano Fortuny for the Delphos Dress. One of the many dresses that has changed the world of fashion!
